About Me.

Carla0007.jpg

I am passionate about mental health and incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be a counsellor. It is an honour to have clients share their hearts with me and to witness healing and growth.

When I am not working, I love spending time in nature, and although I am originally from sunny South Africa, I genuinely love all the outdoor winter sports Canada has to offer. I also like to walk my dog with friends or family in Edmonton's beautiful river valley.

Our three daughters keep me humble and remind me to practice patience, love, and grace daily. As a spiritual person, I find great meaning in my life through my belief in a loving God.

I strive to welcome you with kindness and to support you with a non-judgmental, loving, and safe environment.

Theoretical approach

I believe every client is unique, and I utilize various theoretical approaches to suit your therapeutic needs.

My training is mainly in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy, which are evidence-based therapeutic approaches that can produce wonderful results for people. I also use Somatic exercises or Narrative therapy, among many other techniques.

When it comes to counselling, building a strong therapeutic bond between the counsellor and the client is crucial for achieving positive outcomes. Trust and a safe environment are key components in creating a bond, allowing my clients to feel comfortable sharing their stories and working toward healing and growth.
